Arizona Barbecued Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. short ribs or spareribs
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 medium onion, minced
    1/4 c. wine vinegar
    2 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1 tsp. prepared mustard
    1 c. catsup
    1/2 c. water
    3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Have ribs cut into sections 2 or 3 inches long.
    Brown in shortening.
    Add minced onion and brown.
    Add all remaining ingredients to short ribs.
    Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 from 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until tender.
    May be cooked on stovetop if preferred.
    Serves 4 or 5.
