Microwave Cashew Or Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raw peanuts or cashews
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Combine peanuts (or cashews), corn syrup, sugar and salt in a 1 1/2-quart casserole. Syrup must be added first or the sugar will not melt. Cook 8 minutes on High, stirring after 4 minutes. Add butter and vanilla. Cook 1 more minute at High. Add baking soda and stir until light and foamy. Immediately pour onto lightly buttered baking sheet and spread out thin. When cool, break into pieces. Store in airtight container. Do not double!
