Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. butter
    3 eggs
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    dash of nutmeg
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Scald the milk and butter in a double boiler over hot water. Beat eggs and sugar together until light.
    Add milk to this mixture.
    Mix well.
    Add vanilla, salt and nutmeg.
    Return to boiler.
    Cook until custard coats the spoon, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
    Cool.
    Put in dish and refrigerate.
