Linda'S Jalapeno Cheese Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped
    4 Tbsp. margarine
    2 to 3 jalapeno peppers, diced
    1/2 to 3/4 qt. canned tomatoes and juice
    2 lb. Velveeta cheese, sliced
Preparation
    Saute onions in margarine.
    Crush tomatoes.
    Add peppers and tomatoes to cooked onions.
    (Green chili peppers may be used if fresh jalapeno peppers are not available.)
    Shred or slice cheese in 1/2-inch slices.
    Add to mixture.
    Cook on medium heat on top of stove or microwave on High for 10 to 13 minutes, stirring once or twice, until cheese melts and mixture is smooth.
    Serve with nacho chips.
    Keeps well in covered dish in the refrigerator.
