Ingredients

1 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
1 c. milk
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream
shortening
and\tsugar
until
fluffy.
Add
egg yolks, one
at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Stir dry ingredients
together 3 times.
Add alternately with milk and vanilla
to
creamed
mixture, beating until smooth, after each addition.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour into 3 (9-inch) pans.
Bake 25 minutes in 325\u00b0 oven.
