Molded Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    3 oz. lemon or orange Jell-O (I like orange)
    1 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. grated Longhorn or Cheddar cheese
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 small carton whipped topping
Preparation
    Boil sugar and pineapple 3 minutes; dissolve Jell-O in boiling water, then stir in pineapple until it slightly congeals, then add cheese, nuts and a few maraschino cherries for color if desired. Add topping last and refrigerate.
