Mexican Lasagna - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 large onion, chopped (1 c.)
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 to 4 tsp. chili powder
    29 oz. canned tomatoes
    2 (1 lb.) cans red kidney beans, drained
    20 oz. (10-inch) flour tortillas
    3 c. shredded lettuce
    1 c. shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
Preparation
    Brown ground beef; drain on paper towels.
    Saute onion and garlic until soft in pan drippings.
    Sprinkle chili powder into pan and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
    Stir in tomatoes, breaking up with spoon, and kidney beans.
    Stir in ground beef; simmer, un1overed, for 15 minutes.
