Prune Conserve - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lbs. (8 c.) pitted prunes, chopped fine
    1 (2#) can crushed pineapple, drained
    6 oranges, ground (rind & all)
    4 lemons, juice only
    sugar (equal to total of above ingredients)
    nutmeats, chopped (optional)
Preparation
    Place all above ingredients in crock or glass container.
    Let stand 5 to 7 days before serving, then refrigerate.
    Portion not used within 30 to 40 days should be put in containers and frozen. Serve on pancakes, waffles or French toast.
