Uncle Milton'S Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. cornmeal
1 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
6 Tbsp. onion, chopped (optional)
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. water

Preparation

Mix all dry ingredients.
Add chopped onion, then remaining ingredients.
Drop by teaspoon into deep, hot grease where fish are cooking.
Drain on paper towels.
