Favorite Corn Dogs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. self-rising flour
    1/4 c. self-rising cornmeal
    2 Tbsp. onion, minced (optional)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. mustard
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg, beaten
    1 lb. frankfurters
Preparation
    Combine flour, cornmeal, onion, sugar and mustard; stir well. Combine milk and eggs.
    Add dry ingredients, stirring well.
    Set aside.
    Wipe each frankfurter dry and insert a wooden stick into one end.
    Dip frankfurter in batter.
    Fry in deep, hot oil at 375\u00b0 for 2 to 3 minutes or until brown, turning once.
    Drain well on paper towels.
    Repeat with remaining frankfurters.
