Philadelphia Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk or thick sour milk
1/2 c. hot strong coffee
2 c. flour
2/3 c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream together the sugar and shortening. Add well beaten eggs and beat mixture well. Stir flour and measure, then sift again with cocoa, soda, baking powder and salt.
Combine hot coffee and buttermilk. Add alternately with dry ingredients.
Add vanilla. Pour into three 8-inch pans.
Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0. Frost with fluffy cooked white frosting.
