Crab Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. crab meat
1 medium onion, chopped
1 large stalk celery, chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1/2 stick margarine or butter
6 c. canned whole tomatoes
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen okra
1 bay leaf
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 c. cooked rice
Preparation
-
In 4 to 5-quart pot, cook onion, celery and garlic in margarine until tender.
Add tomatoes and seasonings.
Cover and simmer 1 hour.
Add crab meat and simmer 5 minutes.
Serve on hot rice.
