Fondant Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
    1 c. Karo syrup
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients well and cook on low heat.
    Cook for 1 hour, it will take 45 minutes for mixture to start boiling.
    Test in cold water until mixture forms a soft ball by dropping a small amount in cold water.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla (1 teaspoon).
    Sprinkle countertop with cold water and pour candy on the counter, a little at a time.
    Move the mixture back and forth with a wooden spatula, until mixture is white in color, creamy and will become thick in consistency.
    Refrigerate overnight, having made fondant into small balls (size of a piece of candy) using cornstarch on your hands.
    Coat candy balls with melted sweetened chocolate.
