Banana Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. milk
2 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites
1/4 c. sugar
1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell (graham cracker or pie shell)
2 bananas, sliced (1 1/2 c.)
Preparation

In medium saucepan, combine 1/3 cup sugar with cornstarch and salt.
Blend in milk, then egg yolks.
Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.
Don't overcook.
Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla.
Cool to room temperature.
Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
Gradually add remaining sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
Fold into egg yolk mixture.
In pastry shell, alternate layers of banana slices and cream filling. Cover and chill.
Top with whipped cream and extra banana slices. For a quick and good garnish, use a whipped topping.
