Ingredients

1 can sliced beets or cut up freshly cooked beets
1/2 c. sugar (scant)
1 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. water
Preparation

Mix together sugar, flour and cornstarch, then add vinegar and water and cook until hot.
Add beets and let stand at least 30 minutes.
Just before serving, bring to boiling point and add 2 tablespoons of butter.
