Walnut Crunch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. water
    1 1/2 c. coarsely chopped California walnuts
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/3 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces, melted
    1/2 c. California walnuts, finely chopped
Preparation
    Butter 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan.
    In 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, heat sugar, butter, salt and water to boiling, stirring often.
    Continue cooking to 290\u00b0 or drop test into cold water until thread are hard but not brittle.
    Remove mixture from heat; stir in coarsely chopped walnuts and soda.
    Pour at once into pan.
    Spread top with melted chocolate and sprinkle with finely chopped walnuts.
    Cool.
    By hand, snap candy into small pieces.
