Slaw That Keeps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1 red mango
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. vinegar
    1/2 bunch celery, chopped
    1 green mango
    1 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Shred the cabbage and sprinkle with salt.
    Let stand for 2 hours.
    Squeeze out cabbage.
    Boil the sugar, vinegar and water. Let cool.
    Combine cabbage, celery and mangos which have been chopped.
    Add seed and dressing.
    Place in covered container and keep in refrigerator.
