Scalloped Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 8 slices stale bread, cubed
    butter
    1 large onion
    salt and pepper
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 qt. tomatoes or 6 to 8 fresh tomatoes
Preparation
    Prepare casserole by buttering top and sides.
    Put in a layer of bread cubes, dots of butter, chopped onion, salt and pepper, 1 tablespoon flour and half of the tomatoes.
    Repeat process.
    Cook in 350\u00b0 oven.
    Cover, cooking for first 1/2 hour and then remove cover for last 1/2 hour.
    Pan under casserole for soiling oven.
