Baked Pinto Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pinto beans
    6 c. water
    3 Tbsp. brown sugar or molasses
    1 can tomatoes and chilies
    1 1/2 c. pork or ham trimmings
    pinch of oregano
    1/2 c. chopped onions
Preparation
    Fry onions, browning them lightly in fat.
    Place cooked pinto beans in casserole.
    Add onions.
    Brown sugar or molasses, tomatoes and chilies, salt, pepper, oregano and meat.
    Bake covered in a 325\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
    Finish baking without cover to brown.
