Gram'S Crumb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 c. flour
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
pinch of cloves
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Mix first 7 ingredients together like pie dough.
Reserve 1/2 cup.
Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk.
Blend into mixture. Pour into a greased 9 x 11-inch pan.
Sprinkle reserved mixture evenly on top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
