1 c. thinly sliced onion (or more)
1 green pepper, sliced (omit if you prefer)
2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
1 c. white vinegar (4.6% acidity)

3/4 cup salt, NOT iodized, to 1 gallon water.
