Bachelor'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    6 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. nutmeg *
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Blend sugar and shortening; add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add vanilla and nutmeg. Combine flour, salt and
    soda; add alternately with buttermilk. Add stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Fold into mixture.
    Pour into prepared tube or Bundt pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
