Grandma Billings Meringue Squares - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 sticks margarine
2 c. flour
6 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed
pinch of salt
strawberry jam
3 egg whites
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. water
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. baking powder
graham cracker crumbs or chopped nuts
Preparation

Let cool and spread with strawberry jam.
Then beat egg whites; add sugar, water, cornstarch and baking powder.
Spread over jam. Sprinkle top with graham cracker crumbs or chopped nuts.
Bake for 30 minutes at 300\u00b0.
Cool thoroughly before cutting.
