Scallops Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. scallops
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    dash of pepper
    1/2 c. milk
    3 oz. can mushrooms
    2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
    1 Tbsp. fine parsley flakes
    1/2 c. chopped American cheese
    1 1/2 c. crushed potato chips
    1 c. reserved liquid
Preparation
    Parboil scallops 2 minutes; drain, reserving 1 cup of liquid. Put scallops in a greased 2-quart casserole.
    In pot, melt butter and cook onion until tender.
    Add flour, then pepper, milk and liquid.
    Stir until thickens; add mushrooms, Parmesan cheese and parsley flakes.
    Cover scallops with creamed mixture; top with American cheese, then chips.
    Cook, covered, for 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Also good made with crabmeat or combination of seafood.
