Johnny Cakes(Makes 12 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white cornmeal
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 c. boiling water
    1/4 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. oil
Preparation
    In mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, salt and sugar.
    Add boiling water; mix well, then add milk.
    Heat oil in heavy large skillet over moderate heat.
    Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls to form cakes about 3-inches in diameter.
    Cook, uncovered, for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until crisp and golden brown.
    Repeat for remaining cakes.
