Apple-Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. whole grain flour
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 c. grated apple
    1/4 c. cranberry juice
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. broken nuts
    1/2 c. oatmeal
Preparation
    Sift together flour, salt, baking soda and whole grain flour. Cream in a large bowl shortening, sugar, egg, grated apples and juice.
    Add the sifted ingredients alternately to the fruit mixture with the buttermilk.
    Stir in the batter with a few strokes the nuts and oatmeal.
    Place the dough in a greased loaf pan.
    Bake the bread 1 1/4 hours, letting it cool in the pan.
