Dad'S Clam Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 or 3 (6 1/2 oz.) cans clams, chopped
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped celery
2 c. cubed potatoes
3/4 c. margarine or butter
1/2 c. flour
1 qt. half and half
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Drain the clams, reserving the liquid to add later.
Simmer the potatoes, onion and celery in medium pan covered with just enough water to cover, until done (about 20 minutes).
Do not use too much water as water and all goes in soup.
In large pot, melt butter.
Add flour and blend.
Add cream and let thicken by itself.
Add undrained veggies, clams and clam juice to milk mixture in large pan.
Heat 15 minutes.
Serves 6 to 8.
