3 Tbsp. butter
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sweet milk
2 c. fresh pitted sour cherries or other fruit

Note:
Two cups well drained
canned
sour cherries can be used. In that case, use 1/2 cup juice and
1/2 cup milk instead of 1 cup milk for the liquid.
