Butter Crunch Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 3/4 c. finely chopped blanched almonds
    1 1/4 c. grated milk chocolate (5 oz. bar)
    1 c. finely chopped walnuts
Preparation
    In large heavy pan, cook over medium heat first 5 ingredients, stirring constantly until a teaspoon of syrup in cold water forms a brittle mass (285\u00b0).
    At end of cooking time syrup will be thick and amber color.
    Be careful not to scorch.
    Keep heat low.
    Pour at once into jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1-inch).
    Spread evenly. Cool 5 minutes.
    Then sprinkle with grated milk chocolate (5 ounce bar) in even layer.
    When heat has melted chocolate spread, then pat and sprinkle with finely chopped walnuts in even layer.
    Break into pieces.
    Makes 2 pounds of crunch.
