Texas Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 lb. oleo
    7 eggs, separated
    5 c. flour
    1 oz. lemon extract
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 4 Tbsp. warm grape juice
    1 qt. chopped pecans
    1 lb. candied red and green pineapple, cut fine
    1 lb. candied red cherries, cut in half
Preparation
    Cream the oleo and sugar.
    Add egg yolks one at a time.
    Add flour one cup at a time.
    Add extract and grape juice with soda in it; stir well.
    Fold in fruit and nuts that have been dredged in flour; beat well.
    Beat egg whites stiff and fold in well.
    Bake in tube pans which have been greased and floured.
    Bake for 4 hours at 250\u00b0.
    It make take a little longer than 4 hours.
