Chess Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted self-rising flour
    confectioners sugar
    1 (16 oz.) box light brown sugar
    4 eggs
    1 c. broken nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; set aside.
    Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat.
    Add sugars and vanilla; blend well.
    Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add flour; blend well.
    Stir in nuts.
    Pour into prepared pan.
    Bake 40 minutes. Turn out onto wire rack.
    Sprinkle confectioners sugar over top. Let stand until cool.
    Cut into squares.
