White Frosting - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 3/4 to 2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat.
Remove from heat.
Add granulated sugar and milk, stirring until well blended. Over medium heat, bring to boiling, stirring.
Remove from heat; let cool slightly.
With portable mixer at medium speed or wooden spoon, gradually beat 1 3/4 cups confectioners sugar into warm mixture, beating well after each addition until frosting is thick enough to spread and barely holds its shape.
If frosting seems too thin to spread, gradually beat in a little more confectioners sugar.
Add vanilla.
