Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. squash
    4 c. vinegar
    8 med. onions
    1 1/2 turmeric
    1/2 c. salt
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Slice squash and onions very thin. Put in water and salt. Cover and soak for 3 hrs. Drain off water. Mix vinegar, sugar, and spices. Boil 7 minutes. Put in jars and seal.
