Fig Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 lb. figs
1/2 c. baking soda
3 1/2 lb. (8 c.) sugar
1 qt. vinegar
6 sticks cinnamon
1 Tbsp. cloves
Preparation
-
Wash figs and sprinkle baking soda over figs.
Cover with boiling water and let stand 10 minutes.
Drain and wash.
Add clear hot water to figs and let boil until tender, about 15 minutes.
Drain.
