Green Chili Cheese Grits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. hominy grits
6 c. water
3/4 c. butter
1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Tabasco
3 eggs, beaten
2 small cans Ortega green chilies
Preparation

Butter a 9 x 13-inch ovenproof casserole dish.
In a large saucepan, combine the grits and water.
Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
Add the butter, cheese, salt, Tabasco, eggs and chilies (with seeds and juices) to the grits.
Pour into the prepared casserole and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours before baking.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour or until nicely browned.
Serves 8.
