Italian Minestrone Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dried white navy beans, soaked in water overnight
    1 1/2 qt. (6 c.) water
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    3 large carrots, diced
    3 stalks celery, diced
    1 c. chopped cabbage
    1 c. diced potatoes
    1 c. cooked macaroni (in 1/2-inch pieces)
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. cooked tomatoes
Preparation
    Cook beans in water together in large kettle 3 to 4 hours. In a large skillet, cook in olive oil the onion, garlic, carrots, celery, cabbage and potatoes.
    Cover and simmer, stirring often, for 30 minutes.
    Add to beans.
    Also add macaroni, salt, pepper and cooked tomatoes.
    Simmer together 15 minutes.
    Serve.
