Mexican Cornbread Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    2 eggs
    1/ c. milk
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 can creamed corn (No. 303)
    1 lb. ground meat
    1 onion, chopped
    1 can green chilies
    1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Mix first 7 ingredients into a batter. Brown meat and add onion and chilies. Sprinkle thin layer dry cornmeal in pan. Pour in half of batter, layer cheese, then layer meat mixture. Cover with remaining batter. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
