Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
    2 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Melt shortening and chocolate together in 2-quart saucepan on low.
    Cool slightly.
    Place cooked chocolate mixture, eggs, sugar and vanilla extract in medium mixing bowl.
    Beat until well mixed and smooth.
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add with nuts to chocolate mixture.
    Beat until blended well.
    Pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool in pan and cut into squares.
