Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. lentils
    1 small onion, minced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. olive oil or other
    1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 qt. water
    1/8 tsp. basil
    1/8 tsp. parsley
    macaroni (linguine, broken small)
Preparation
    Saute onion and garlic in oil until light golden color. Add water
    and
    all ingredients except tomatoes, linguine and cheese. Bring
    to boil and simmer 1 hour or until lentils are tender.
    Add tomatoes and cooked linguine.
    Serve with cheese. Serves 4 regular size people or 6 midgets.
