Heavenly Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 c. rice
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. butter
    1 can evaporated milk, chilled
    1 c. pineapple juice
    1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 pkg. cherry flavored gelatin
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Combine rice, salt, butter and water in heavy saucepan. Cook until
    rice
    is
    tender. Drain well.
    Add drained crushed pineapple and nuts to rice and set aside.
    Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
    Mix with pineapple juice.
    Chill until slightly thickened.\tRemove\tfrom fridge and beat well with a rotary beater.
    Whip
    chilled
    milk
    until
    stiff.
    Fold into gelatin mixture;
    add
    to
    rice
    mixture.
    Place
    in
    a large bowl and chill until firm.
    Serves 12.
