Fruit Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. nuts (pecans, walnuts, almonds)
    1/2 lb. candied pineapple
    1/2 lb. candied cherries
    3 c. white sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. half and half
Preparation
    Cut pineapple and cherries into small pieces.
    Place together in large bowl.
    Cook together sugar, syrup, salt and half and half until hard soft ball stage.
    Beat until it starts to thicken.
    Add slowly to nuts and fruit.
    Pour into buttered cookie sheet.
    Pat down with buttered hands.
    Cover with waxed paper and place overnight to dry.
    Cut into squares.
