Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo
    1/2 c. boiling water
    2 egg whites, beaten stiff
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
Preparation
    Boil together the
    sugar,
    syrup
    and
    hot water.
    When this forms a soft ball
    dropped\tin cold water, pour 1/4 of it on egg whites.
    Return
    the
    remaining
    syrup
    to the fire and cook until the mixture forms
    a stiff hard ball in cold water. Then pour over the first mixture.\tAdd nuts and vanilla.
    Beat well and pour into buttered dish.
