Heavenly Hot Fudge Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine (2 sticks)
    4 oz. (4 sq.) unsweetened chocolate
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 2/3 c. (1 tall can) evaporated milk
Preparation
    Melt butter or margarine and chocolate in top of double boiler over boiling water.
    Stir in sugar gradually (about 4 tablespoons at a time) being sure the sugar is completely moistened after each addition.
    Mixture will become very thick and dry.
    Add salt and slowly stir in evaporated milk (a little at a time).
    Serve hot. Makes about 1 quart of sauce.
