Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. milk
    1 c. yellow corn meal
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    3 eggs, separated
Preparation
    In a saucepan, scald the milk, stir in corn meal.
    Reduce heat, simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in butter, sugar, salt and baking powder.
    In small bowl beat egg yolks.
    Stir small amount of the hot mixture into egg yolks. Return all to pan and mix well.
    Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
    Fold egg whites into hot mixture until well blended.
    Pour into a greased 8 inch square baking dish or pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
    Serve with a spoon. 6 servings.
