Frozen Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg yolks
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 (9 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 c. whipping cream
    3 egg whites and 2 Tbsp. sugar, stiffly beaten
    2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
Preparation
    Beat egg yolks with salt, sugar, juice of pineapple and lemon juice.
    Heat until it thickens.
    Remove from stove; add pineapple. Set aside to cool.
    Then add stiffly beaten egg whites, then fold in whipped cream.
    Put crumbs in bottom of glass pan, saving a few for the top.
    Freeze and serve frozen.
