Ingredients

1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. dark molasses
4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. ground ginger
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening.
Beat in eggs and molasses.
Sift flour with soda and spices.
Add to creamed mixture.
Chill in refrigerator.
Roll into nut size balls and roll in granulated sugar.
Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Stores well in airtight container. Makes 12 dozen cookies.
