Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sweet milk
    1 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    flour (enough to make soft dough)
    apples, chopped slightly
Preparation
    Blend all but apples and roll dough 1/4-inch thick.
    Cover with apples and bits of butter.
    Roll like a jelly roll and cut in pieces about 1 1/2-inches thick.
    Drop into boiling sauce and bake 30 to 40 minutes at 325\u00b0.
