Dixie Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Stir sugar, syrup and water over low heat until sugar dissolves.
    Cook without stirring until forms hard ball when dropped in cold water (250\u00b0).
    Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
    Continue beating while pouring hot syrup in thin stream over egg whites.
    Add vanilla; beat until mixture holds shape, then fold in nuts.
    Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper.
    Makes 4 dozen.
