Pastel Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. fruit flavor Jell-O
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour (self-rising; if not, use 1 tsp. baking powder and 1 tsp. salt)
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly the shortening, sugar, Jell-O, eggs and vanilla.
    Blend in dry ingredients.
    Roll dough into 3/4-inch balls.
    Place 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
    Flatten each with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.
    Bake 6 to 8 minutes in 400\u00b0 oven.
    Makes 4 dozen.
