Sopaipillas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 to 1 3/4 c. warm water
    2 1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. lard or shortening
    1 pkg. regular dry yeast
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in water.
    Mix dry ingredients together; stir into yeast.
    Cut in shortening.
    Roll dough out onto floured surface to 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut into 3-inch squares.
    Fry in deep fat until golden brown.
